Firearms Instructor and Instructor Trainer Program
This respected credential can be obtained through our training
program. NRA Instructor candidates are experienced at firearms
handling. Experience in recreational, competition and professional
use of firearms qualifies an individual to apply for candidacy
for instructor certification based on the Training Counselor's
evaluation.
The
instructor program is conducted on weekends or privately. Subjective
evaluation of teaching skills and knowledge, included with written
testing help prepare the instructor candidate for certification
and independent teaching of National Rifle Association Basic Firearms
Courses.
The
advantage of NRA instructor certification is that students know
that they are getting quality comprehensive training. Instructors
obtaining this credential will have sound teaching and management
skills leading to effective conduct of safe shooting programs.
Certification also allows for a variety of benefits to include
eligibility for liability insurance and NRA training department
resources and materials.

National Rifle Association Training Counselor’s
Work Shop
Training Counselors are instructor trainers who train, certify and
assist NRA Basic Instructors.
To become a training counselor this workshop facilitates the
training of Training Counselors. Once the Training Counselor
Candidate successfully completes the four- day seminar he may then
apply for a training counselor appointment. This is based on the
Training Counselors past training record as a basic instructor and
recommendations made by the Senior Training Counselor and three
other experienced individuals within the local shooting community.
Only basic instructors with two years of teaching and intend to
teach instructor programs should attend. Other individuals may
attend but appointment cannot be guaranteed.
This four- day seminar will be conducted with several Training
Counselors present and a full time NRA staff member from NRA
Headquarters. This will be an intense learning experience covering
the spectrum of basic NRA programs, NRA policies, organizational,
structure and programs.
The last TC conference proved to be a valuable networking situation
for local TCs and instructors. $200 of the tuition will go towards a
complete new set of all NRA basic books and lesson plans. One day a
working breakfast will be provided.
Because of the rarity of this event commitment to the program should
be made as soon as possible. The tuition is $400 or $475 two weeks
before.
Point Shooting Instructor Program
Advanced Instructor Training
This style of firearm shooting has been thoroughly proven. Through
ten years of teaching this style of shooting we have perfected the

experienced firearm instructors and would like to experience and or

shooting relies on natural use of the body reactions to stress for
its technique, making it the easiest shooting style to learn and

program reinforces and validates the technique with medical research
